Summertime is here and that usually means one thing is guaranteed to take me away from home and the warehouse, the semi-annual
CHAMPS Trade Show in Las Vegas.
Originally called the Contemporary Handcrafted American Made Products Show, now it's known simply as CHAMPS. Anyone that has strolled up and down the many aisles of booths filled with Chinese glass and knock-off vaporizers, knows why there are no longer periods between each of the letters in CHAMPS. But despite the many international products found throughout the show, there are still many U.S. made gems to be found.
Stepping foot into the trade show for the first time is always overwhelming, even for experienced vets. There's more glass, vaporizers, accessories, and whatnot than one can imagine. It's an endless sea of counterculture product presented by tired hippies, hyper hipsters, middle eastern shop owners, and the obligatory scantly dressed booth babes. There's something here for everyone to feast their eyes on.
One of the main attractions at CHAMPS, is the glass blowing competition set up in the center of the convention hall. Glass blowers from all over the country set up at different stations to create mind bending works of art. Watching these masters work at their craft is truly the high point of the show and not to be missed.
One of our favorite haunts is to visit our good friends at the
Vaporbrothers Vaporizer booth. It like catching up with old family that you like and haven't seen in quite some time. After hanging out at their booth for several hours we usually end up at some off the wall restaurant that most people journeying to Las Vegas would never step foot in. And these dinners are never at normal hours, usually late night right before the restaurants close. But it's always a good time with great people.
From the 23rd to the 25th of those month, Jason and I will be attending the CHAMPS trade show. Follow
VaporWarehouse on instagram for on the scene photos and hopefully some sneak peaks at new product. There's something big coming from Vaporbrothers, so stay tuned.
