The phone call with W9Tech also produced some information that is available in their product video but not included in with the Omicron and O-phos vaporizers themselves. It's good enough to include here:
• To avoid bad taste new cartridges should be burned in or "oxidized" prior to filling. Do this by holding the button for 5 seconds to heat the cartridge, then allow the cartridge to cool for at least 30 seconds and repeat this process at least 5 times.
• While doing the oxidizing make sure you look inside the cartridge to see the red glow of the heating element. If you do not see this red glow you may have a faulty cartridge and you should not fill this cartridge.
• Depending on use clean all contact points on base and cartridge every 3-7 days with 99% ISO alcohol and a Q-tip. You can also do this whenever the temp seems low.
• To prevent leakage start drawing air 1 second before pressing the button and continue drawing air a few seconds after letting go of the button.
• The optimal fill amount is.6 - .8 grams with .6 being slightly better.
