When vaporizers first made their appearance in the 1990s, they were not very portable and confined to pretty much home use only, thus the computer term "desktop". The advantage of desktop vapes over portable vaporizers is consistent power from being plugged into an outlet. This solid power supply allows for use of heat elements that often require a lot of power to provide a flavorful, potent vapor hit often lacking in most portable vapes.

Vaporbrothers Vaporizers

Vapor Brothers designed the original wood box style vaporizer that was released in 1999. The Vaporbrothers VB1 vaporizer design is simple and straightforward but delivers an effective and efficient performance. While lacking the bells and whistles of other brands, the Vaporbrothers VB1 has proven itself to be a true time tested classic that will outlast most of the current desktops.

Answering the call to the concentrate market, Vaporbrothers released the innovative VB2 Multi-Converter vaporizer. Featuring an all ceramic body with a ceramic/glass air path, the VB2 is in a league of it's own when it comes to vaporizing wax.

Volcano Vaporizers by Storz & Bickel

Considered the BMW of vaporizers, the Volcano Vaporizer has earned it's legendary status as being the first forced air vape. Storz and Bickel designed and manufactures their Volcano vapes in Germany. Both versions of the Volcano use forced air to fill a balloon or bag with the vapor.

Storz & Bickel also released the Plenty Vaporizer that almost resembles something found on a gas pump. Like the 7th Floor Life Saber, this handheld vaporizer must be plugged in to function but it provides intense vapor with it's double helix-heat exchanger.

7th Floor Vapes

Despite not being on the block as long as Vaporbrothers or Storz & Bickel, 7th Floors Vapes is still considered a classic vaporizer company with several solid hits under their belt.

Their flagship vaporizer is the Silver Surfer vape. A solid direct draw vape that uses a whip for vapor delivery. The SSV features an aluminum body, ceramic heat element, and is made in Colorado.

Following in the footsteps of the SSV, the Da Buddha vaporizer is one of the best selling desktop vaporizer under $200. The DBV is also a direct draw vaporizer that uses a hands free whip to deliver the vapor.

Inspired by a sci-fi space trilogy, 7th Floor designed the handheld Life Saber vaporizer. The LSV can be used a various attachments and turn your favorite glass piece into a custom vaporizer.

Recently 7th Floor ramped up the hero power on their SSV creating the Super Silver Surfer vaporizer. The Super SSV is both a forced air and direct draw vaporizer allowing you to choose between a balloon or whip for vapor delivery.
