Santa Cruz May Say No to Smoking in Parks

More and more cities are banning smoking in public places. Santa Cruz is not talking about banning smoking in public parks.

A no-Smoking proposal put forth by the city's Parks and Recreation Department this week follows a 2004 smoking ban at Main and Cowell beaches, which the city has deemed a success, and comes amid a statewide trend of increasingly limiting public areas where people can light up cigarettes.
