Monday is a Shipping Holiday

Thursday, May 21st, 2009

Don’t forget Monday May 25th is Memorial Day and a federal holiday.  The USPS will not be delivering or picking up orders, so please keep that in mind when placing your order or waiting for one to arrive.  Have fun, be safe, and most importantly take a moment to remember the brave men and women that made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

A Q&A with Vaporbrothers

Monday, May 18th, 2009

Q: Hello.  I love my Vaporbrothers Vaporizer. I am writing to learn how best to operate it with lifespan in mind.  What components are most likely to fail, and what can I do to avoid failure?
A: Most likely thing to happen is your screen gets clogged, or the glass (especially hands free) gets knocked on something and breaks.  For this it’s always good to have some extra whips around.  I prefer the Vaporbrothers 5 pack miniwhip, which is not hands free, but inexpensive and works very well.  There are tons of tips and tricks available online at our fan website, Vapor Brothers You Tube Fan Page.

Q: How does the ceramic element fail?
A: It is a random event.  They are very reliable but at times some will burn out.  To provide the right temperature in the Whip for a good vapor hit, the heater gets very hot inside and can be delicate.  We’re constantly working on it to chase down any sources of failure.

Q: After my herbs are depleted, I have been turning the unit to off and pulling a few lungfulls of air over the element to cool it.Is this a good idea or a bad idea?
A: I think it’s unnecessary because forced cooling could only stress the element more.

Q: Does time at temperature cause deterioration of the ceramic element?
A: It used to be that way with our metal heating elements.  But with the ceramic, it seems no amount of time really deteriorates them.  Except for the few random ones that fail, the ones that survive are as hot now as they were years ago.

Q: Or should I leave the whip attached, so that the ceramic element cools as slowly as possible?  No thermal shock possibility.
A: Would only help, but beware of other problems could happen because of that.  As the glass cools and shrinks, the hands free connection could become locked together.

Q: I am careful to use the unit on hard flat surfaces, so that the cooling holes on the bottom have full access to airflow.
A: Great.  Soft surfaces are OK too– we just emphasized the hard surface because fuzzy/carpeted/couch surfaces will cause overheating.

Q: In summary, I am so glad to have my Vaporizor and want to treat is as well as possible, and I will appreciate any tips you can give me regarding keeping my unit healthy.
A: We are delighted it works so good for you.  It’s why we brought this invention to the world.

Hand-blown Works of Art

Thursday, May 7th, 2009

Did you know that each and every Vaporbrothers Fancy Whips and Hydrators are uniquely, hand-blown pieces of art? Because of this, each whip and hydrator is slightly different is style, shape, and color. Much like snowflakes, each whip is special and unique. Vapor Brothers makes their Regular and Hand Free Whips available in 4 styles: Colored, Fritted, Fumed, and Knobby. The Brothers Hydrators and Deluxe Hydrator Kits come in Colored, Fritted, and Fumed.

If you are looking for the most in color choose from the Colored or Fritted Vaporbrothers Whips. The Knobby Vaporbrothers Whips offer additional grip and less chance of them rolling off the table. While the Fumed Vapor Brothers Whips offer creamy, smoky waves rolling around the glass. Which one will you choose?

A Good Question

Wednesday, May 6th, 2009

This came from a customer today and we thought was worth sharing with everyone.

Q: What Vaporbrothers Vaporizer accessories do you think are worth the extra money to make vaporizing or maintenance easier?
A: The essential accessories for vaporizing are:

  • Spare Vaporbrothers Whip - They are glass and will break if not handled properly
  • Grinder - it is important to break up the herbs, a course grind is best
  • Screens - periodically it is necessary to change the screens, good air flow is a must
  • Metal Pick Tool - in addition to the bamboo pick tool that comes with your Vapor Brothers vaporizer, you will need both the bamboo and metal pick to change the screens
