Reporting Live from Seattle

Last night the Vapor Warehouse crew had the pleasure of experiencing Virgin Airways for the first time.  What a great experience!  We were kinda bummed that our flight was so short because there was plenty of things to do from the seat of the plane to keep you occupied.

Entering the plane at night is a bit like walking into some Vegas club.  Instead of bright white lights, there was a great purple glow coming from the cabin of the plane.  Over the loud speakers, some nice chill ambient techno was streaming and I kept waiting for some green lasers to spin through the air.  My kind of plane.

In front of every seat is not just a TV but a command center complete with a mini keyboard and gaming controls.   The touch screen revealed a selection of movies, TV channels, games, music, and a drink & food menu.

Unlike most planes with set channels of music, Virgin allows you to scroll through a selection of artists and create your own playlist.  That was a really sweet touch and I got to listen to some Ben Harper on the way up.

Once we got up in the air, we dialed up the food and drink menu.  Scroll through the choices and add to your cart when you find something that appeals to you. There were 5 different selections to choose from for how you wanted your Bailey's Irish Creme (straight, on ice, coffee, etc.).  When your cart was full, just swipe a credit card and wait.  And it didn't take all of 2 minutes before our friendly attendant was there with our full order.  Talk about service!!!

I used to rave about JetBlue, now I'm going to rave, almost literally, about Virgin Airways.  check 'em out.
