Last year my parents and my brother and his family talked about booking a 10 day cruise from San Francisco to Alaska and back. We were all married on the same date (but not the same year) and they booked the cruise to celebrate our anniversaries. Being a veteran of Caribbean cruises, I couldn’t imagine why anyone would want to spend their summer vacation somewhere cold. My wife and I had already booked a Caribbean cruise for February, so we decided to pass.
Needless to say we got cruise fever and decided why not, let’s join the family for the Alaska cruise and celebrate together. So we booked the cruise upon returning home from the Southern Caribbean in Feb. Of course I still grumbled about going to Alaska up until we left our city by the bay and headed north. On our first full day at sea while in the gym I spotted what would be the first of many whales, who like us were heading north.
It didn’t take long for me to realize why, like the whales, people head north for the summer. With each passing day the scenery grew more and more beautiful. Finally we hit the inside passage and cruised through the many islands hanging off the coast of Alaska and Canada. Those of you that have sailed through the inside passage know the wonders and beauty we witnessed. Giant snow capped mountains, glaciers that glow bluish green, and waterways with giant icebergs. Eagles soared through the air and whales played with each other in the sea. It was a bit like living inside a Yes song.
Our ship took us to three different ports in Alaska. Each one unique and beautiful. In Juneau, we were lucky enough to have a new found friend take us on a 6 mile hike through lush rainforest to the Mendenhall Glacier. A site to behold from the distance and a vision that will last a lifetime once we stood at the very edge of the glacier. Wild rivers flowed off the sides of the glacier only to cut back into the glacier and form electric blue ice caves with rain dripping from their ceilings. Nothing could have prepared me for this incredible experience and words can never quite describe just how touched my soul felt gazing upon the field of ice and snow.
Now what does all of this have to do with Free Shipping for Vapor Brothers Vaporizers to Hawaii and Alaska from Vapor Warehouse? While strolling through the town of Ketchikan, I saw plenty of kind people that lived in the town or at least spent the summers there. I felt I should give something back to the kind people living in Alaska for sharing the beauty of their land. So upon my return to California, I suggested we offer Free Shipping for Vaporbrothers Vaporizers for our customers in both Hawaii and Alaska. The owner of Vapor Warehouse, and my brother in law, agreed and we put the change in place. After all he will be visiting Hawaii for 6 weeks come the end of September. So to all our kind friends in both states, thank you and enjoy the beauty you live in.
