Vocano Tops Vaporizer Review

Monday, March 28th, 2005

In case you have not heard, the Volcano Vaporizer has topped our latest Vaporizer Review. Vaporwarehouse was the first (and as far as I know, the only) online herbal vaporizer review. Recently, VaporWarehouse decided it was time to try out the high dollar Volcano Vaporizer from Storz Bickel…and it was an over achiever. Our lead reviewer went into the review questioning the price tag associated with the Volcano and to his amazement, he loved it. As a matter of fact, he thinks it is well worth every penny and it is now the only vaporizer he uses at home. So, if you have thought about the Volcano Vaporizer, you are definitely going to want to read the review. And, if you are just looking for information on the different vaporizers on the market, you will want to read the vaporizer review even more. It is a great place to start and to learn about the most popular vaporizers on the market today.

Building Your Own Vaporizer

Friday, March 18th, 2005

Now this is something that people seem to be asking about all of the time, and it is something that I would not recommend. There is really little reason to try and build your own, home grown, vaporizer. I don’t think that burning down your house or making something that could potentially start a fire is something you want to whip up in your garage. Plus, we are talking about something that could potentially produce harmful toxins that your body will ingest. The prices of vaporizers like the Vapor Brothers, Vapor Doc and Vapor Warez vaporizers are relatively inexpensive these days and the build quality has improved dramatically since the “early days.” Do all of us a favor and don’t try this at home!

Get Your Whip On

Saturday, March 12th, 2005

No, I am not talking about your car, I am talking about getting some extra whips for your Vaporbrothers vaporizer or your Vapor Doc. Eventually the tubes will discolor, especially if you are not dilligent about cleaning them out every once in a while. The screens will dry out and become brittle as well. Picking up a couple of extra whips and a 10 pack of screens will make sure you are prepared for any situation. So, do yourself a favor and pickup a few whips today and everything will be alright.

Volcano Vaporizer is the Herb Conserver

Wednesday, March 9th, 2005

People always ask me if the Vaporizers conserve your herbs. Until now I wasn’t sure of the answer, with the Vapor Brothers and Vapor Warez it seemed like the herb was going farther but it was hard to really tell and I never performed any side by side testing.

With the Volcano Vaporizer however the conservation has become very clear. I have placed a very small amount in the Volcano, the same amount the average person would consume in one draw off of a water pipe. This amount can product 2 or even 3 balloons when used in the volcano. Typically after 1 balloon I am about to go for the 2nd when I realize that I don’t really need it. This to me means the volcano is making my herbs go 2-3 times farther than when I was using a water pipe. How can this be? Well I have no scientific evidence to back this up but here is my theory: When you use a water pipe only a fraction of the active ingredients in the smoke are able to be processed out by your lungs in a single inhalation. This means you exhale a good amount of the essence you are trying to extract. The volcano, by dissipating this essence over 2-3 balloons in a slightly less potent form allows your lungs to actually process more of the vapor and extract more of the essence. The other great thing is when you hold in a draw off of a volcano balloon you aren’t holding in any smoke and all the nasty stuff we are trying to get away from. The vapor is clean and pure and I have never coughed and never get phlegm like I used to when I smoked.

I have to say the volcano at first takes some getting used to but every day I find another reason that makes it worth the hefty price tag.

Volcano Vaporizer Review

Tuesday, March 8th, 2005

We have been stocking the Volcano Vaporizer for a few weeks now but we hadn’t gotten a chance to try it. I finally got my hands on one this past weekend and gave it my first try. My first impression with the unit was that it seemed like a whole lot of show compared to the simplicity of the Vapor Warez or Vapor Brothers. However it quickly won me over.

The first thing I noticed was that the temp dial allowed you to set a precise temperature for the herbs you are vaporizing. Interestingly enough you have to refer to the manual to find the temp that corresponds with the 1-9 digit on the unit. I would have rather just seen the temp in F and C written on the unit, but I found my sweet spot at about 5 which is around 350 degrees F. The herb compartment is generally very easy to load and I was glad to see that the unit came with the balloon attachment fully assembled. The last thing I would want to do is have to put something together before I could use it. Ironically enough my Sweetleaf Aluminum Grinder is the exact diameter of the chamber, allowing me to place the chamber in the grinder and then just flip it over to fill it. I attached the filling chamber to the balloon, set it on the volcano and flipped on the fan. The balloon filled in about 30 seconds and I could see the perfect amount of vapor inside. The design prevents vapor from escaping after you remove the balloon from the filling chamber to attach it to the mouthpiece which is nice.

The flavor was incredible. The volcano produces perfect vapor every time and the efficiency alone probably makes the unit worth the price. I was able to fill 3 balloons off of an amount of herbs I was expecting to fill only a single balloon. The balloon also holds the vapor very well. I was curious so after filling my second balloon I let it sit for about an hour before inhaling it. I found the flavor to be a bit “stale” but the potency was more or less in tact. I even let the rest sit overnight and in the morning found it to still have some potency, but nothing like the night before. I don’t recommend leaving vapor in the balloon, I just was curious to see how it would hold up. The mouthpiece design is very nice, holding the vapor inside until you press your lips against it activating the valve.

Overall I am very very happy with the Volcano. At first it seemed like it was over engineered, a bit much for the task at hand, but after using it a few times you just fall in love. I highly recommend this unit to anyone who can see past the hefty price tag.
